Why Chatterbook Exists

Why Chatterbook Exists

By Sim x

I created Chatterbook because I kept seeing the same thing happen over and over again. Information was being shared, but not always clearly. Notes were written in different places, handovers depended on memory, and important little details were easy to miss when multiple people were involved in support.

When you’re supporting someone with complex needs, those little details matter. Sleep, mood, food, routines, changes in behaviour, appointments, how the day actually went. None of it feels dramatic on its own, but together it paints a picture that helps everyone understand what’s really going on.

Chatterbook was designed as a simple, shared place to capture that information. It’s not just about recording what happened, but about giving everyone involved the space to share their observations, ideas, and thoughts about the person they are supporting. What’s working well. What’s not. What seems to help. What might need adjusting.

When support teams are encouraged to contribute, patterns start to emerge. Small insights get noticed. Consistency improves. And the person at the centre of the support benefits from a more thoughtful, connected approach.

I didn’t want another app to log into or system to learn. I wanted something that sits where support actually happens. A paper planner that anyone on the team can use, regardless of experience or role.

I’ve always believed that if something is easy to use and feels good to pick up, people are far more likely to use it properly. That’s why Chatterbook doesn’t look clinical or medical. It’s calm, practical, and thoughtfully designed to fit into everyday routines without feeling like a chore.

This isn’t about creating more paperwork. It’s about making communication clearer, encouraging shared understanding, and helping support teams feel confident in what they’re doing. When everyone has access to the same information and feels heard, nothing important slips through the cracks.

Chatterbook is for families, support workers, and teams who want a better way to stay aligned day to day. It’s a small tool, but it can make a meaningful difference in how support is shared and understood.

Communicate. Collaborate. Connect.
Never miss a thing.
